Chelsea Ann Peralez, MS, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor
(469) 333-6163 connect@texaschristiancounseling.com

I create a space where kids, teens, and adults can tackle life’s challenges, heal from past trauma, and grow both emotionally and spiritually. I blend together faith, counseling tools, and trauma-informed care so you feel stronger, lighter, and more connected to Christ. Whether you’re struggling with codependency, trauma, anxiety, depression, or other concerns, I will help you apply the principles we discuss in counseling to your everyday life. This might look like building healthy habits, setting boundaries, managing triggers with coping skills, or challenging negative thinking. With warmth and authenticity, my goal is for you to feel seen, heard, and supported as you step into lasting growth and healing.

About

I integrate my training in trauma-focused approaches with a faith-centered perspective and tailor each session to your unique needs. I will walk alongside you through the ups and downs of life, offering genuine care and reminding you that you are not alone. My hope is for you to gain a greater sense of peace, resilience, and confidence in handling life’s challenges. Through your experience in therapy, we can hold onto the promise of Psalm 34:18 – “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” God is near in our struggles and brings comfort and hope.

My Goal as a Christian Counselor

My goal is to offer you a confidential, supportive space to process your life experiences, build resilience, and develop healthy coping skills. As a Christian counselor, I aim to help you to deepen your relationship with God, find hope and guidance through Scripture, and draw strength from your faith. Our sessions will be designed to support meaningful and lasting change, and my hope is that you leave each session feeling supported, encouraged, and equipped with tools to help you experience more peace, restored relationships, and strengthened faith in Christ.

What I Offer in Christian Counseling

I offer a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, valued, and supported. I provide compassionate, Christ-centered care along with practical, evidence-based tools to manage symptoms, navigate challenges, and strengthen your relationships. Together we will establish a treatment plan catered to your needs and goals. You can expect to be met with honesty, encouragement, and collaboration as we work toward growth, healing, and deeper alignment with your values and faith in Christ.

My Approach to Christian Counseling

I approach Christian counseling with warmth and care, creating a supportive space where kids, teens, and adults feel truly valued and heard. I utilize a holistic, relational, and trauma-focused approach to help clients process difficult experiences, build resilience, and grow in self-awareness. By integrating faith into the counseling process, we explore how spiritual values intersect with emotional and mental health. Healing is not just about managing symptoms but about finding renewal for your heart, mind, and spirit.

Biography

Qualifications & Experience

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. I have extensive experience supporting children and families experiencing mental health challenges and trauma, helping them discover resilience and rekindle hope as they journeyed toward healing.

I am formally trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Both are evidence-based approaches that help individuals process traumatic experiences, reduce distressing symptoms, develop healthy coping skills, and move toward healing.

My Call to Christian Counseling

I have always known in my heart that I was meant to pursue a career that allows me to help others and walk alongside them through life’s challenges. I felt called to counseling after learning about the many theories as an undergraduate student and realizing that I could make a difference by using all the qualities that make me who I am.
Counseling has given me the opportunity to do just that–offer support, encouragement, and care as people work towards healing and growth, all while creating a space where people can feel safe, seen, and genuinely cared for.

More About Me/On a Personal Note

Outside of my work as a mental health professional, I enjoy spending meaningful time with my husband, family, and our lively dog, Archie. In addition, I find joy in traveling, exploring local boutiques for little treasures, getting lost in a good book, baking yummy treats, and watching baseball during the season. These simple joys help me rest and recharge so that I can bring my best self to those I serve.

Counseling for Children and Teens

I love creating a welcoming and joyful space where kids and teens can grow, explore, and express themselves. I am known for singing and dancing in sessions with my clients, doing crafts, and using hands-on activities because these approaches help kids open up and process big emotions in a safe and joyful way. With a Christ-centered approach, Scripture, and playful, age-appropriate strategies, I guide children and teens toward resilience, confidence, and a deeper sense of God’s love in their lives.

Trauma

If your past experiences are weighing heavily on your heart, making it tough to feel safe or trust again, you are not alone. I specialize in trauma-focused approaches, including EMDR, TF-CBT, and TBRI, which will help to carefully guide you through processing trauma at a pace that feels comfortable. We will invite God’s presence into the healing process and lean on His strength, love, and guidance.

Sexual Abuse

If you have experienced sexual abuse, I want you to know that you are seen, heard, and deeply cared for. It can feel like such a heavy burden to carry, but healing is possible. In our sessions together, we will create a confidential, compassionate space where you can feel open to sharing your feelings and experience at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I use a combination of evidence-based, trauma-focused care, such as TF-CBT and EMDR, alongside Scripture to help you rebuild trust, restore your sense of safety, and find freedom from shame and guilt. Together we will walk through this journey toward healing, finding God’s hope and restoration as you regain your strength and peace.

Codependency

If you find yourself constantly putting others’ needs above your own, struggling to set healthy boundaries, or just feeling drained by your relationships with others, I can help. In our sessions, we can explore behavioral patterns, practice setting boundaries, and strengthen your sense of self-worth through Christ-centered approaches.

Coaching

If you are feeling uncertain about your next steps, coaching can help you gain clarity and confidence in moving forward. In our sessions together, we will focus on your goals, strengths, and dreams God has placed in your heart. I’ll be right there with you, offering practical tips, encouragement, and strategies to keep you on track, and we will create a plan that aligns with your values and trust God’s guidance every step of the way. As Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, “For I know the plans I have for you, declare the Lord, plans to prosper you, not harm you, to give you hope and a future.”

EMDR

Whether it’s past memories, current struggles, or emotions that just don’t seem to settle, EMDR can help you find peace and healing. In a supportive space, we’ll use EMDR alongside Scripture and prayer guide your heart, mind, and spirit. You’ll have room to share what’s weighing on your heart, process what is holding you back, and experience God’s comfort in a meaningful way.
