About

Past clients have shared that I have a calm and comforting demeanor, putting people at ease when they need to talk about things that might be difficult to discuss. As your therapist, I will honor and respect you as a person and feel privileged to be a part of your healing journey. I provide a relaxed and comfortable environment for you to pursue your therapy goals, while also ensuring focus and purpose so our time feels productive and useful. Whether you’re looking for counseling for children, teens, couples, or adult individuals, I would be honored to help.

My Goal as a Christian Counselor

One of my goals as your counselor is to promote coping and healing by guiding you to grow in your relationship and dependence on God. My hope is that through our time together, you will feel free to openly and honestly share your feelings and experiences. I offer a welcoming space where you can unpack your thoughts without judgement as we collaborate on the best treatment plan to meet your needs.

What I Offer in Christian Counseling

As your counselor, I will offer to begin appointments with prayer and will listen openly to your concerns. From there I will share recommendations for therapeutic interventions specific to your situation. I will also provide guidance on how to practice Christian meditation, introduce coping strategies (like breathing and grounding), and share relevant biblical applications for your daily life. Together we will explore how best to address issues to help you feel better and deepen your faith and reliance on God.

My Approach to Christian Counseling

As a Christian counselor, my approach is to ask the Holy Spirit to work through me to meet each client where they are. I will work with you collaboratively and offer information, support, and guidance without judgement. We will work together toward mutually shared goals, ultimately leading you to feel better and walk more closely with God.

Biography

Qualifications & Experience

With 30 years of experience in the field of mental health, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSW-S) with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) from Texas Christian University and a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from the University of Texas at Austin.

I have worked for area schools and nonprofits providing individual therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy (children of divorce, anger management, teen support, and at-risk youth, among others). I have provided virtual therapy for adults and teens, treating a wide spectrum of conditions in private practice. I have also worked in medical settings as part of interdisciplinary teams, acting as the behavioral health expert providing brief treatment, crisis care, grief therapy, and treatment for chronic medical and mental health conditions.

My Call to Christian Counseling

As a Christian working in the behavioral health landscape, I have always felt my work is a calling to honor and serve the Lord. I feel blessed to work in a setting where patients are seeking counseling from the lens of a believer. I treasure the opportunity to incorporate biblical principles, call on help from the Holy Spirit, and guide patients on a path to restored peace.

More About Me/On a Personal Note

I love spending time with my family, camping, hiking, keeping up with my favorite sports, crafting, crocheting, and volunteering.

Anxiety

Anxiety can feel debilitating. We’ll work together to understand what may be triggering your anxiety. We will explore proven Christian tools and techniques to help you gain insight into your triggers, manage anxiety more effectively, and reduce your symptoms.

Depression

When feeling depressed, it often feels challenging to accomplish even the simplest of tasks. We’ll work together on a plan to understand how depression works, find ways to manage your symptoms, adjust activity and thought patterns to improve how you are coping as we seek God’s healing.

Counseling for Teens

Teens have so many unique stressors and challenges. I strive to build a strong connection with my patients to fully understand their struggles, introduce effective communication strategies, validate feelings, and offer positive coping strategies, all while looking to biblical principles that can be applied to everyday life.

Individual Counseling

We’ll work together to understand the issues and stressors you are facing. We will ask for God’s guidance to uncover the root of your problems, develop goals to make things more manageable, select a therapeutic approach that fits you, and get you on a path to healing.

Anger Management

Anger is an emotion that, when experienced excessively or frequently, can be alarming or distressing, warranting a deeper look into the triggers or experiences that may be feeding those feelings. I want to hear your story, understand your perspective, and find out your goals as we work together to develop a strategy to make your symptoms feel manageable and channel them in positive ways.
